  • I moved here when I was a child myself. There are also beautiful parks near the neighborhood which are awesome for kids.

7. Do you think the place you are living at right now is suitable for elders?

  • No. I live on a steep hill and I’m not too close to any stores.
  • I would worry about elderly people being able to navigate the neighbourhood safely, as the school nearby creates a lot of traffic on weekdays and the loud kids may become a nuisance.
  • If an elderly person decided to move here, I’m sure they would make it work, but I think there are better alternatives.

  • Well, mornings really aren’t my cup of tea, so usually I stay in bed for a while and scroll through social media until I feel more awake.
  • After that, I take a shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, and make sure I look put together before I start the day.

3. Do you like to do the same things every weekend?

  • No, I like to switch things up.
  • If I do the same thing every weekend, I find that I get bored very easily.

  • It’s a very classy mirror that I really enjoy.

4. Do you think mirrors are a good way to decorate a room?

Yes, definitely. I love having mirrors, especially big ones in my bedroom. I think mirrors can make the room feel bigger than it actually is. Besides, I love how mirrors make my room brighter since they reflect light instead of absorbing it.

Topic7 Dreams

1. How often do you remember your dreams after you wake up?

  • I usually sleep pretty well, so I don’t remember my dreams that often.
  • But when I have a particularly vivid or scary one—especially something totally unrealistic—I tend to remember it.
  • Like once, I had this dream where snakes were chasing me, and it felt so real that I couldn’t stop thinking about it after waking up.

2. Do you like hearing about other people’s dreams?

Not really. I’m usually not that interested in hearing about other people’s dreams. I mean, dreams are usually pretty personal, so unless it’s especially funny, or somehow relevant to something we both know, it doesn’t really grab my attention. That said, if a close friend shares a dream that has some emotional meaning or a funny twist, I might actually enjoy hearing about it and talking about what it could mean.

3. Do you think dreams can have special meanings?

  • Yes, I think that in some cases, dreams have special meanings.
  • They may represent people’s fears or desires. For example, many students have dreams about failing exams during finals season.
  • Besides, some people have dreams of becoming rich or marrying someone they have a crush on.
  • Those types of dreams can be very revealing.

  • Sometimes I like to hang out with my friends if I have enough energy.

2. Do you spend your evenings in the same way on weekdays and on weekends?

  • No, I usually spend my evenings differently during the week than I do on the weekends.
  • On weeknights, I make dinner for myself and then watch some TV before going to bed.
  • On the weekends, I try to go out with my friends. I like trying new restaurants or doing karaoke.
  • It’s good to vary my evenings like that.

3. How did you typically spend your evenings when you were a child?

  • When I was little, I liked to have my mom read a story to me.
  • It was really calming and it helped me
    fall asleep.
  • Other times, I liked to make up little games to play by myself.
  • I think it was just because I was an imaginative kid.
  • I liked to entertain myself.

4. Is there anything you don’t like to do in the evenings?

  • I really don’t like to clean in the evenings.
  • When I get home from work, I’m often tired from the day.
  • So I just make food for myself and try to relax.
  • Having to clean when I don’t have much energy is really annoying.
  • So I try to do that on the weekends.

Perfume

Do you like perfume?

Yes, I really love perfume. Wearing perfume often makes me feel more confident, as a beautiful scent can enhance personal charm and leave a lasting impression.

Well, I think perfume is nice, but it’s just not something I’m into personally. I do appreciate it on others, though.

Do you use perfume?

Yeah, I use/wear/apply it pretty much every day. It helps me feel refreshed and confident throughout the day.

No, I don’t use perfume. It’s not really my thing. I just rely on my natural scent.

Where do you spray perfume?

I apply it every morning, usually my wrists and neck before heading out to ensure the scent lasts longer throughout the day.

I don’t actually wear any, so I don’t have a specific place to spray it. But if I did, I’d probably spray it on my clothes/wrists ……

Do you send perfume to others as a gift?

Actually, I’ve never given perfume as a gift. I think it’s a great idea, though—maybe I’ll try it in the future, like for a friend or someone special.

Do you spend a lot of money on buying perfume?

Not too much. I don’t buy it too often since a bottle lasts a while.

No, I don’t spend anything on perfume. I guess that’s one area I save a bit of money.

Meet new friends/people

Do you like making friends?

I don’t really like making new friends because I’m quite an introverted person. I have a few good friends that I’ve been with since childhood, and I think that’s enough for me. Right now, I’m more focused on my studies, so I’m not really interested in making new friends.

Did you make a lot of friends when you were a child?

When I was younger, I had a ton of friends—some were classmates and some were neighbors. We used to play outdoor games like soccer or riding bikes together. That was a great way to meet new people, and I had a lot of fun back then. Some of those friends I still stay in touch with, but others I haven’t spoken to in years

Have you made any new friends recently?

I haven’t made any new friends recently because I’ve been really busy at school. Since I’m in my junior year, I have a lot of exams to prepare for, and my regular study load is pretty heavy. Besides, I’m studying for the IELTS, so I just don’t have much time to go out and socialize. That’s why I haven’t made any new friends.

Since I’m in my third year of college, there’s a lot of homework and exam prep, plus I’m studying for the IELTS, so I have a lot to get done.

What do you often talk about with your new friends?

Generally, when I make new friends, I like to share a bit about my old school and some of my experiences. I’ll talk about videos I’ve watched recently or books I’ve read, and I usually share my hobbies or thoughts about future job opportunities.

Do you like meeting new people?

No, I don’t really enjoy meeting new people. Like I said, I’m pretty introverted, so I prefer spending time with my old friends or just being by myself. Meeting new people feels like a hassle because you have to reintroduce yourself, and it takes time for others to really understand who you are. So, I’m not really into meeting new people.

Where can you meet new people?

Well, since I’m a university student living on campus, I meet new friends through clubs or when I take part in events and competitions, like basketball or volleyball games. That’s where I can connect with new people. And Of course, if I travel, I might meet other travelers or locals too.

Do you enjoy talking to new people?

I’m not a big fan of talking to new people because I often struggle to start a conversation or know what to say. Since we’re not that familiar, it’s hard to find common ground, and sometimes we don’t have anything in common at all. That’s why I don’t really enjoy chatting with new friends.

Do you meet new people more often now than in the past?

Actually, I don’t meet new people as often as I used to. These days, the pressure from my studies is pretty intense, so I spend most of my time focusing on schoolwork, especially with IELTS prep. That leaves me with little time to socialize. Back when I was in elementary, middle, or high school, the academic pressure wasn’t as heavy, and I used to go out and join extracurricular activities a lot, which is where I met new friends. So now, I definitely don’t meet new people/see friends as much as I did back then.

Where do people in your country like to go swimming?

I think most people go to public swimming pools which are open year-round. It’s easy to swim anytime, and the fees are pretty affordable. Some also choose to go to pools at fitness centers, where the environment and facilities are better, like temperature control and more thorough sanitation.

What’s the difference between swimming in the pool and swimming in the sea?

I feel like the difference between swimming in a pool and in the ocean is that swimming in the ocean is more exciting—it’s deeper, and the open water makes it feel a bit more thrilling. In a pool, though, you feel safer, and it’s generally a bit more secure.

Swimming in the sea is a bit unpredictable, with waves and currents that make it feel more adventurous. In contrast, pools are calm, so it’s easier to swim laps and practice without worrying about waves. Both are fun in their own way, but the sea is just more refreshing and connects you to nature.
